It is Porsche, who asked for custom made tyres from Pirelli. With Porsche’s 911 in the 60’s the power game was elevated, warranting tyres that can keep this unstoppable revving machine solid on the ground. This demand from Porsche led to design and engineering of custom made PZero for the 911 that improved the car’s driving performance. The 911 rear flat 6-engine and the increased camber at the rear axle needed tyres with asymmetric tread patterns with an unequal distance between the outer and inner shoulder. This requirement was to ensure that the tyre had the maximum contact patch with the road, which in turn made sure that maximum power was transferred to the ground. Pirelli Tyres services to manufacturer OE tyres for particular car brands pushed Pirelli to create custom tread compounds, the 911 PZero uses nanocomposites to give high rigidity. Even the chemical mixing of these compounds had to be uniform, which allowed the tyre limited deformation which further improved the precision while cornering.

Pirelli tyres services to offer the optimized custom design for even the Turbo version of the Porsche 911. The PZero tyres for the turbo version had softer compounds as compared with regular PZero Pirelli tyres. The softness was compensated by a fuller tread pattern with a stiffer structure.

Pirelli Tyres and Bentley Bentayga:

Pirelli Tyres is the official Technical Partner of the Bentley Continental GT equipped with a new PZero. In 2015, with the launch of Bentley’s new Bentayga, the British manufacturer’s first SUV and the first Bentley built for off-roading. Bentley Bentayga’s Scorpion Verde for all-season performance is a lightweight tyre to suit the weight and speed of the car, with softer off-road orientation. It is designed with low vertical rigidity for added comfort, optimized compounds for low rolling resistance and low wear.
